#1 Ready or Not: Aired Wednesday, September 26, 1995

Charlie is shocked when a few weeks before his wedding an old girlfriend (Sara Mornell) shows up with what she claims is his son. Bailey meets a great girl but still isn't ready for a relationship. Julia finds herself a little jealous when she discovers Griffin has a girlfriend. Claudia prepares to begin jr. high.

#2 Falsies: Aired Wednesday, October 4, 1995

Bailey joins Will on his visit to a university and decides college is his escape from his troubled life. Julia and Justin stage a protest against a new school rule prohibiting kissing, but by the end it's not Justin who has her attention. Charlie and Kirsten's engagement is in question when Charlie's attachment to Spencer brings up the issue of Kirsten's infertility. Claudia buys a bra and gives herself an instant figure in an attempt to fit in at Junior high.

The family takes over the wedding plans. In frustration, Kirsten and Charlie run off to have a quickie wedding. Justin catches on that Julia's cheating on him with Griffin. Sarah convinces Bailey to run for student body VP to improve his college application form, but quits the campaign when she feels he's using her and confesses her feelings for him.

#4 Have No Fear: Aired Wednesday, October 25, 1995

Bailey seriously injures another football player during practice and his feelings of guilt keep him from being able to play. Joe has a mild heart attack and has to change his lifestyle, so Charlie takes over the day to day management of Salinger's. Julia and Griffin's relationship begins to heat up and Julia thinks that Griffin will expect a sexual relationship -- something for which she is not prepared. But, Griffin tells Julia that he does not want to be her "first" since she will surely make a big deal out of it, and he is "not into big deals."

#5 Change Partners and Dance: Aired Wednesday, November 1, 1995

Claudia breaks her arm while ice skating and the doctor's positive prognosis is not enough of a reassurance for her that the break will not affect her violin playing. Kirsten is a little perplexed when a fortune teller tells her that the name of the man she will marry is "Rob," not Charlie. Bailey and Sarah start to date but Sarah realizes that Bailey is not over Jill yet, and that until he is, their relationship will never work; and, Julia tries to take care of Griffin by getting him a job at Salinger's after he is fired from the bike store, but Griffin resents the intrusion.

Kirsten's parents come to visit. Bailey's young, pretty teacher, Maggie, tutors him after school and Bailey starts to develop a crush on her. Griffin begins to spend time with Claudia which upsets Julia.

A fire breaks out at Salinger's and the insurance company accuses Charlie of arson. Will starts to date Sarah and Bailey suddenly realizes that he may have made a mistake by breaking up with her. Griffin is arrested for stealing the payroll from the restaurant in hopes of running away from his emotionally abusive father. And, Claudia makes a new friend at school, a rebellious girl with a passion for cigarettes and playing hooky.

#8 Best Laid Plans: Aired Wednesday, November 22, 1995

Charlie and Kirsten have decided to write their own vows for their upcoming wedding, but Charlie can't figure out what to write. Bailey throws Charlie a bachelor party but nothing turns out as he hoped. Claudia has a night of special activities planned for her and Kirsten, also, but again nothing goes as planned. Julia and Justin reluctantly go to a rock concert at the Hard Rock Cafe together, and while they are there, Justin sees his father with a woman other than his mother.

#9 The Wedding: Aired Wednesday, December 13, 1995

Charlie decides he's not ready to make the final decision of his life by getting married, and minutes before the wedding tells Kirsten. The wedding is called off until Kirsten offers him an ultimatum: marry her now or it's over. Bailey is caught between wanting Sarah back and ruining his friendship with Will, her current boyfriend. Will ultimately steps aside because he is not truly in love with her. Although Julia and Justin are not dating any longer, Justin comes to the wedding. After the wedding is called off, the two of them sneak upstairs with a bottle of champagne, and have sex for the first time.

#10 Grand Delusions: Aired Wednesday, December 20, 1995

With useless honeymoon tickets in hand, Charlie takes Claudia for an escape to Mexico, hoping to repair their relationship. In her anger, Claudia avoids her brother and seeks solace in her new friend, Enrico. Meanwhile, Charlie falls for a beautiful, free-spirited woman. He thinks he's falling in love with her until she makes him realize he's just confused about Kirsten. He returns home to find Kirsten packing her boxes. Julia is determined to avoid both Justin and sex, but the two of them quickly succumb to this new and exciting discovery. They agree to a completely physical relationship until they realize that casual sex is harder than they thought. After agreeing to cut off their relationship completely, they end up slowly rebuilding their emotional relationship. Reunited with Sarah, Bailey is eager to spend time with her, but she is more hesitant and less trusting of him. Sarah's visiting grandmother lets slip that she's adopted and she comes to Bailey for emotional support.

#11 Unfair Advantage: Aired Wednesday, January 3, 1996

Julia's favorite teacher touches her in an uncomfortable way, and she is left agonizing over whether she is to blame. She decides to file charges after discovering that others had similar experiences. Sarah is on a spending spree, abusing her parents' generosity in the aftermath of being told that she's adopted. Bailey is uncomfortable with Sarah's lavish spending, and tries to clarify to her the difference between money and love. In trying to fit in with the single crowd at work, Charlie tries to show off his young and wild side. He misinterprets signals from a waitress, Shelley, and agressively makes a pass at her. When Shelley rejects him, Charlie fires her. Charlie realizes he is wrong after dealing with Julia's situation. Claudia continues down the bad girl path under the influence of new friend Jody. Charlie finally takes notice when Claudia gets sick on Scotch, but his intervention isn't enough to keep her from her pranks.

#12 Hold On Tight: Aired Wednesday, January 10, 1996

Bailey and Julia are constantly arguing and their fighting leads them to use Sarah and Justin to get back at each other -- to get back at Julia, Bailey tells Sarah about an opening for a singer in a band, knowing full well that Julia wants the job. Sarah tries out for it and gets the job. Julia tells Justin about a job at Channel 12 knowing full well that Bailey wants the job, Justin ends up getting the job. Also, Claudia gets the cast off her arm and is reluctant to start playing the violin again. And, Charlie and Kirsten begin to see each other again.

#13 Poor Substitutes: Aired Wednesday, January 17, 1996

Charlie wants to enroll Owen in pre-school but he must be potty trained before they will accept him. So, Charlie starts intensive potty training sessions with the little one. Claudia misses Kirsten so much that she is even making up stories of disaster to get her over to the house. Justin's pretty English friend, Allison, comes to visit and she and Julia get along famously, that is until Allison makes a pass at Julia.

#14 Strange Bedfellows: Aired Wednesday, January 24, 1996

Claudia's teacher, Emily Schrader, catches her smoking and has a parent/teacher meeting with Charlie about it -- a meeting which ends up with the two of them dating. Justin's parents discover that he and Julia are sleeping together; and, Will has a new girlfriend, an opinionated, talkative girl whom Bailey and Sarah can't stand.

Bailey is offered a $40,000 scholorship to college by a rich stranger who turns out to be his grandfather. Charlie is dating Claudia's math teacher and at the same time seeing a rich customer. And, Julia needs tutoring for her computer class and turns to the social handicapped Miller West for help.

Claudia is very excited to have a new Grandfather in her life and she is anxious to spend time with him -- Julia, on the other hand, is very suspicious of him and his motives. Sarah finally meets her birth mother; and, Charlie's two-timing with Emily finally catches up with him.

It is Valentine's day and Bailey plans a romantic evening at the Monster Truck Rally for Sarah, Will, Gina and himself-- an idea that doesn't go ever very well with Sarah. Meanwhile, Sarah runs into a handsome old friend and Bailey begins to feel jealous. Griffin returns from Military School and declares his true feelings for Julia, and Charlie begins to spend more and more time with Kathleen.

#18 Before and After: Aired Wednesday, February 21, 1996

After finding out she's pregnant, Julia debates her options, leaving mixed reactions amongst the family. Sarah is the only woman she can talk to, but being adopted herself, she feels conflicted. Charlie is supportive to whatever Julia wants, Bailey wants to beat up Justin, and Claudia is just totally confused. Bailey and Sarah are both ready to become sexually active. Without much convincing needed from Bailey, Sarah tries to make the event beyond compare. Julia's news interrupts their plans and they resign themselves to abstinence. Claudia's violin gets water-damaged in the basement but Jake is able to fix it. Justin, feeling alone and depressed, wants to help julia, but no one will let him. Julia ends up having a miscarriage.

As Kathleen falls more in love with Charlie, he begins to withdraw from her, and ultimately tries to break up with her. But she won't take no for an answer. As Sarah's interest in the band grows, she starts to change, first in her appearance, then in her behavior and interests. Bailey isn't sure he likes the new her. Julia goes to see Griffin in New Orleans.

Julia and Justin continue to drift apart and her indifference to everything puts him at a loss about what to do. Charlie feels trapped in his relationship with Kathleen and wants to break it off. Bailey learns that Jake has not been entirely honest with them when he discovers that Jake has a grown daughter from another marriage; and, Bailey makes the difficult choice of asking his grandfather to leave the house.

#21 Spring Breaks: Aired Wednesday, March 27, 1996

Joe comes back into town and confronts Charlie about a notice of sale that he has received for Salingers and Charlie tries to cover up what he really knows about Kathleen's revenge against him and the restaurant. Bailey is obsessed with Sarah's safety after she and a band member are mugged. Julia and Justin seem to be drifting further and further apart. Claudia attends her first make-out party. And Charlie, in his desperation to find something good in his life, goes to see if he can reconcile with Kirsten.

Sarah and Bailey realize that unless they can come to some understanding in their relationship perhaps the best thing for them both would be a separation. Julia and Justin are at a loss of how to save their relationship from crumbling -- especially when they both admit to having had an affair. Charlie is desperate to find a way to save Salingers and calls Jake hoping that he can help. Also, Charlie puts all his feelings on the line to convince Kirsten that he truly does love her and want her back.
